Over the next four weeks, the MLBPA will be honoring our game's Hispanic Heritage and the role players with Latin American roots have played in shaping the way the game has evolved and is played today. Throughout Major League Baseball history close to 2,000 players of Hispanic Heritage have been featured on a big league roster. Today over 30% of Major Leaguers are of Hispanic Heritage. Each Major League Player of Hispanic Heritage has had an impact on their team, one way or another. In order to recognize those who have had an impact on their team and city this season, we have designed 30 graphics that depict iconic images of the team’s city, made up of the last names of the each Hispanic Player this season.
